Home2Work:
The Home2Work Program offers a great partnership to assist those who are enrolled in Rapid Re-Housing, Youth, and Prevention programs to connect to employment services and resources that can aid them in increasing income, thus promoting housing stability and financial independence.
The Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) and the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) have collaborated to create Home2Work, a referral pilot that streamlines the process of connecting Rapid Re-Housing (RRH), Youth, and Prevention programs to services offered by DEOthrough the Los Angeles County America’s Job Centers of California (AJCCs).
LA County Development Authority (LACDA):
The LACDA Referral program provides a pathway to self-sufficiency for public housing residents and opportunities to serve residents who are in need of housing support.
LACDA and DEO collaborate in this referral program to refer qualified housing residents to LA County AJCCs and receive access to workforce development programs offered by the AJCC system. LACDA case managers work in collaboration with AJCC staff to support housing residents enrolled in the program.
(LACDA was formerly known as HACoLA.)
Person Paying Support (PPS):
One of the barriers faced by PPSs that owe outstanding child support obligations is the suspension and revocation of state licenses such as driver’s licenses and other professional licenses. Most jobs in California require proof of a current and active driver’s license, or professional license, if applicable, thus PPSs that have had their license suspended or revoked have a hard time obtaining a job, making it difficult to make child support payments. The Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) and Child Support Services Department (CSSD) have collaborated to create a referral program in order to help remove barriers faced by Persons Paying Support (PPSs).
PPSs can enroll in a Workforce Development Program (WDP) through our America’s Job Centers of California (AJCC) system to remove this barrier. If enrolled in a WDP through this partnership, PPSs that productively participate in services may have their license(s) re-instated, giving them a better chance to obtain employment and to remain gainfully employed, which will also allow them to get on a support payment plan to become compliant with child support payments, if applicable.
(PPS was formerly NCP.)
