Our Business Services Representatives (BSRs) will work one-on-one with your business to help you avoid layoffs and keep your business on track for success. If your business is facing the possibility of layoffs or closure, we can provide services to help minimize the impacts on affected employees and work with your business to identify preventative measures.

Additionally, our Rapid Response Program is a pro-active, business-focused, and flexible program designed to respond to layoffs and plant closures by quickly coordinating services and providing immediate aid to companies and their affected workers. Rapid Response can provide customized services on-site at an affected company, accommodate any work schedule, and assist companies and workers through the painful transition associated with job loss. Rapid Response services are provided to employers and their impacted employees that meet the provisions of the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act within the local service delivery area. Rapid Response specific services include assisting with:

• Conducting planning meetings
• Assessing layoff aversion strategies
• Conducting on-site orientation to impacted employees
• Providing information about unemployment benefits, Trade Adjustment Assistance Act benefits, COBRA benefits, and re-employment services available through the America’s Job Center of California (AJCC) system;
• Coordinating Labor-Management/Workforce Transition Committees
