The Los Angeles County Workforce Development Board (WDB) is one of 45 Local Workforce Development Boards in the State of California, certified by the Governor of the State of California.

The WDB operates on behalf of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors to carry out functions mandated by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) of 2014 Section 107 (d) and California Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (AB 1270) section 25.

The Los Angeles County Workforce Development Board provides policy and oversight to the second largest Local Workforce Development Area (LWDA) in California, which serves approximately 4 million residents, 57 of the 88 cities, and approximately 150 unincorporated communities within Los Angeles County.

WDB Agenda and Members

Workforce Partners

The Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO), which houses the LA County WDB, is LA County’s central economic and workforce development hub helping residents connect to new career pathways, start and certify a business, and access life-changing opportunities. DEO works to advance equity and inclusive, sustainable growth through all DEO programs and services by targeting economic benefits to the most vulnerable and marginalized communities, small businesses and residents in LA County. DEO provides Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Title I Adult and Dislocated Worker program, WIOA Title I Youth program and Rapid Response program services, and specialized workforce development programs through its network of America’s Job Centers of California (AJCCs). Below are links to our other WIOA Partner Programs.

There are several programs and activities identified in the Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA) that make their services available to customers with Workforce California delivery system. The Act identifies programs that are required partners as well as additional human resource programs that may be workforce partners.
